Mirrorless

< Objects

Mirrorless is an architecture that denies the physical, two-dimensional idea of the mirror, a free tribute to the spatiality of Lucio Fontana’s canvases. The reflective surface is absent, it becomes space and acquires a metaphysical meaning.

Compared to a system that virtually replicates faces thousands and thousands of times, the missing image turns into an alienating and unreal element. The gaze is forced beyond; the mirror is a window on reality – not by chance in the classic 2:3 photographic format – that exists beyond the self.

On the steel surface everything is reflected except the face. Human figure and landscape become one, in a kind of universal representation.
